The Elms Dental Practice has been established for over 30 years and in 1990, Kenton Payne, the current practice owner, joined as an associate after graduating from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry. He took over the practice in 2002 and is now supported by our Associate Dentist, Tanya Burton, who qualified in 1999 at Guy’s Hospital in London. Our hygienist, Sarah Bokota, completes our friendly team of practitioners who are assisted by caring dental nurses and our cheerful receptionist, Kerry.
We believe that prevention should lie firmly at the core of modern dentistry. From your very first visit, we aim to get to know you so we can customise your dental care and reduce the need for any future treatment.
Our philosophy is to provide minimally invasive, aesthetically pleasing dentistry, which we achieve by using a mix of modern materials and the latest techniques.
We also understand that many people may feel apprehensive about visiting the dentist so we take the time to listen to your concerns within our relaxing surroundings. Our aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible and the fact that most of our new patients stem from existing patients’ personal recommendations is testament to the warmth of our approach.
Each member of our staff is committed to refreshing and adding to their skills to keep on top of any developments in the ever evolving field of dentistry.
We are committed to working within the recommendations of our governing bodies and are registered with the GDC and The Care Quality Commission. The practice also has British Dental Association Expert membership.
We are a private practice offering an affordable pay as you go fee scale or we can provide Denplan payment plans for those who prefer to spread the cost of their treatment. We accept credit cards, cheques and cash. Take a look at our fee guide for more information.
We aim to provide top quality dental care to all our patients, including the youngest family members, so we offer regular examinations and treatment for children at a substantially reduced rate.
So we can continually improve on the service we offer, we regularly ask our patients for feedback.
In the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with any aspect of your experience at The Elms, we have a comprehensive Complaints Policy that enables you to express any concerns and we will act to resolve these swiftly.
We work within best practice recommendations in cross infection control and have a separate decontamination room for the cleaning and sterilization of our instruments. We use single use equipment where possible and dispose of this responsibly according to current guidelines.
Patients who need urgent treatment during our opening hours will be seen within 24 hours. Outside normal hours, you can call 07749 594982 and a dentist will be on call to give advice or treatment where necessary. This service operates between 6pm-8pm on weekday nights and 9am-12pm at weekends and bank holidays.
You are welcome to park on our forecourt, but spaces are limited and it can get busy. Alternatively, there are ample spaces in the carpark in Elm Avenue (free to those with NFDC parking clocks) and free parking spaces are located along Elm Avenue but waiting is limited to one hour.
Both our surgeries are on the ground floor, so are accessible to wheelchair users.
