Coronavirus Notice to Patients

At the Elms Dental Practice we are taking every step to minimise the spread of Coronavirus as well as ensuring the safety of our staff and minimising disruption of the services we offer.

In addition to the stringent standards in infection control that we routinely employ we have implemented increased measures to provide the safest possible environment.

If you are over 70, have a medical condition or wish to cancel your routine appointment to avoid unnecessary travel we will be happy to assist you in deferring your appointment. If you are feeling unwell, have a raised temperature or have been in close contact with someone who is showing symptoms please call us to rebook your appointment. Additionally, if you are currently self-isolating or social distancing we will rearrange your appointment.

We will be contacting all of our patients who are from vulnerable groups to discuss upcoming dental appointments.

The Coronavirus is new and as such we have limited knowledge on how it can be spread. Consequently as a precaution we have taken the decision to avoid where possible procedures that can cause the production of high quantities of water droplets into the air. In effect this means the hygienist will be limited to hand cleaning of the teeth and may not polish your teeth. The dentist will also be avoiding where possible use of high speed, water generating equipment.

The current situation is unprecedented, but please be assured that we are doing everything we can to ensure your safety at this difficult time. The situation is also changing on a daily basis and we will continue to follow any official guidelines as they become available to us.
